The most important strategic goal of KMG Engineering is to improve scientific and technical capacity. For its implementation, the employees continuously improve their professional competencies. Experts interested in scientific activities, for example, are trained at the Satbayev University PhD Program in Geology and Development of Oil and Gas Fields.
PhD students in Kazakhstan are admitted to thesis defenses in accordance with international requirements and publication of the results of thesis research in internationally peer-rated journals.
Ainura Zhanserkeyeva (Expert of the Large Projects Support Department) participated in a grant competition to support scientific research as part of her PhD program in Oil and Gas Geology. This competition was organized for PhD students of the Geology and Oil-gas Business Institute, Satbayev University as part of the World Economic Forum Phase V to support and develop scientific capacity.
The competition consisted of two stages: preparing an English application and defending the research project to members of the International Commission, which included foreign and Kazakh representatives from Shell, ENI, and Chevron. The online presentation of the objectives and relevance of the research work, the expected results, and research methods, as well as explanations to questions from commission members, took 20 minutes.
Ainura Zhanserkeyeva, PhD candidate, was awarded a grant to conduct geochemical and sedimentological research at the University of Padua (Padua, Italy), which is celebrating its 800th anniversary this year.
International collaboration with access to modern laboratory facilities improves research quality and efficiency and is the modern international standard for PhD candidates.
Research results, as required by the competition for grant funding, will be published in peer-reviewed Web of Science/ Scopus journals (Q1-Q3).
We wish Ainura the best of luck in her defense! For those entering the PhD program, there are always new opportunities and doors opening. The most important thing is to believe in yourself!
