Metal Research Laboratory

In the oil and gas industry, services in the field of metalworking are quite wide, it is the control of metal before its introduction into operation and the study of high-speed output from the construction.

In 2019, the branch of KMG Engineering LLP “Kaznipimunaygas” operates a metal Research Laboratory, which offers a wide range of services to determine the state and quality of metals.

In the laboratory, a section of proboscis is equipped, where the production of images for spectral analysis, chemical analysis, Images for mechanical experiments on bending and splashing is carried out, fine polishing of microstrips for high-quality metallographic analysis. (Fig. 1)

– universal abrasive cutting machine for wet cutting;

– metalworking bench;

– broaching machine for making V- and U-cuts on metal samples;

– automatic metallographic press;

– grinding and polishing machines.

The laboratory provides the following range of services:

1. External inspection and determination of geometric parameters of received samples of metal products.
2. Macrostructural analysis.
3. Microscopic analysis.
4. Mechanical testing of base metal and welded joints:

– static tension;

– static bending, flattening (compression);

– impact bending at low, room and high temperatures.

5. Chemical (spectral) quantitative analysis.
6. Analysis of the obtained data, based on the test results, with the issuance of reports and recommendations on the quality of the metal product.
