The two winning teams consisting of 5 students from Astana IT University will get an opportunity to intern at KMG Engineering, as well as credit transfer for the next trimester.
It is important to mention that one of the 5 students who represented one of the finalist teams of the startup project has already been hired by our company since March 1.
Starting from tomorrow, four more will begin an internship at KMGE, and upon its completion some of them will be officially employed in their field in a leading company of the domestic Oil & Gas sector.
To remind, Astana IT University and KMG Engineering are cooperating within the framework of the current partnership memorandum. The parties reached an agreement last summer on joint participation in the process of training highly specialized personnel in IT.
The University emphasizes that the well-known AITU Project Challenge competition is essential to select the most talented students who can implement practical cases in IT and the competition really helps graduates find jobs in their field and in turn helps potential employers find qualified specialists.
Now the winners will put all their efforts, skills and outstanding abilities to contribute to the IT development in the Oil & Gas sector and, in particular, to the successful development and implementation of the ABAI automated system at KMG’s Oil Production Enterprises.
As a reminder, this system, an artificial intelligence advanced base, will combines all data on a single digital platform for KazMunayGas, and will double the speed of their collection, processing and visualization without the use of additional software. The analysis will be carried out using, among other things, artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
All commission members point out that the participants performed well in their tasks. There were two tasks from KMGE, the first was to digitize and recognize text from paper media with the function of storing the results in a database, and the second was to process the data flow coming in real time from the control devices and then identify patterns of repeated operations. A student who has already been officially hired by KMGE was able to solve this very problem.
